“Self-delusion is pulling in your stomach when you step on the scale.” –Paul Sweeney
Self-delusion feels good but it ultimately hurts more than it helps. Pulling in your stomach may give you the temporary delusion that you have been taking care of your body, but it does not change the weight registered on the scale. However, if you step back and acknowledge what you want, such as being in better shape, and actually work toward that goal, the results fall into line.
How am I deluding myself? What does my self-delusion suggest that I truly want? How can I work toward what I want?
