Thought for the Week

Feelings like disappointment, embarrassment, irritation, resistance, anger, jealousy, and fear, instead of being bad news, are actually very clear moments that teach us where it is that we are holding back. -Pema Chodron

There are moments that allow us to see our life more clearly and encourage us to change.  Some of these moments are comfortable and appreciated.  Many of these moments are difficult and painful.  Our higher power uses both carrots and sticks in molding us.  Enjoying the comfortable or suffering through the painful without looking for the invitation to grow limits us.  Take advantage of these moments, the comfortable and the painful, to become more of who you want to be.

When have I shut down due to painful experiences?  What were those experiences trying to teach me?  What gifts await me as I look for the invitations to grow that are embedded in the comfortable as well as the painful experiences of life?
