Thought for the Week

The program is really hard if you do 99% of it.  When you do 100%, it’s easy.

Working most of the program is like curing only part of the infection.  The struggle and pain will just keep coming back.  Old habits continue to gnaw at you.  Old thought patterns continue to remind you of “the good old days.”  Old reactions continue to make your life painful and unmanageable.  If you do not work the entire program, you allow these old parts of your addiction to live and possibly grow.  When you embrace the entirety of the program, especially when it is uncomfortable, these old parts of your addiction drain away and the program gets easy.

When have I used half-measures?  What parts of the program have I been afraid of or unwilling to work?  What gifts await me as I embrace 100% of the program?
