“Never, never, for the sake of peace, deny your own experience.” -Dag Hammarskjord
It can be easy and comfortable to simply agree with others and their point of view. There are times when this is an appropriate response. However, there are times when being known, even if it creates waves, is the most appropriate course of action. If you always make waves, people stop listening. If you always acquiesce, people stop considering you and your experience. It is important to have both options available and to consider which option you choose to exercise and in what situations.
Do I allow myself to be known? Do I challenge everything that does not fit my perspective? What gifts await me as I find balance between these two options?
