Thought for the Week

Those who take the trouble to gain mastery over what happens in consciousness do live a happier life.

Happiness in life is not based on reality.  It is based on perception.  Two people can experience the same reality and yet have very different experiences.  Consider the person who has unexpectedly lost their job.  Their initial reaction may be shock, sadness, and fear about what to do.  Taking time to consciously explore the situation, the same individual may learn about their strengths and weaknesses, realize they are being challenged to pull their life back into balance, or feel freed and excited to start the next phase of their life.  Changing our reality does not create happiness.  Changing how we consciously experience reality is the gateway to happiness.

Have I mastered my consciousness or am I reacting to it?  How might my experience change if I take the time and effort to master my consciousness?
