Break It Down Into Smaller Chunks
When we enter into true recovery, we know exactly what we need to change… everything! That’s a tall order and can feel overwhelming. Even if we do change everything all at once, the chances of those changes sticking for an extended period of time are minimal. What’s the answer? Break the process into smaller chunks. Start with adding meditation into your daily routine. Once that is in place, add journaling. Then focus on your resentments and letting these go. Then focus on interrupting your automatic thoughts. Little by little these smaller chunks build on themselves until you have changed everything!
What am I trying to change that feels overwhelming? What have I tried to change that I keep falling short at? How can I break my process of change into smaller chunks to create success one step at a time?
