Thought for the Week

Life is like learning to play the violin while being on stage.
It would be nice if the world only saw our finished, polished selves. But that is simply not reality. The world and those around us get to see and experience us as we make mistakes, learn, grow, change, and fine tune our way through life. The traumatized part of us that looks for perfection struggles with this. But the healthy, grounded part of us recognizes that others can only appreciate our growth by understanding where we have come from.
Am I willing to allow myself to be imperfect knowing this is an important part of my growth? Am I accepting of others’ imperfections as part of their growth? What would change if I viewed myself and others as perfectly imperfect?
