“A spirituality that is divorced from the body becomes an abstraction, just as a body denied its spirituality becomes an object.” –Alexander Lowen
Our body and our spirituality are intrinsically linked. When we separate them, we create problems. There is a reason that individuals versed in spiritual practices also hold values about diet and physical care. It is also no surprise that many athletes have a spiritual or meditation practice.
Am I taking care of myself both physically and spiritually? If I have lost or not developed a connection with the physical or spiritual aspects of myself, what have been the consequences to me and others? If I am ignoring the physical or spiritual aspects of others, what have been the consequences to them and myself?
