Avoid the Turds

At times, we get stuck in the middle of a difficult situation between two (or more) people or groups.  Having grown up in semi-rural Washington state, the image that comes to mind for me is a cow pasture with a bunch of adolescent boys throwing dried cow turds at each other.  In this situation, standing still is a bad idea.  You’ll get hit by the turds.  At the very least, be aware of the turds flying through the air and actively move to avoid them.  Better, get a shield of some sort to protect yourself.  Best of all, leave the pasture.

Have I been hit by “turds” in the past?  Have I taken responsibility to avoid the “turds?”  What would change if I actively avoided the “turds?”
