Thought for the Week

Intense feelings can be my guide.

Feelings are guides that help us navigate through life.  When feelings are intense, they are either warning us to immediately pay attention to something in our life or an indication that we are carrying someone else’s emotional energy and should let go.  The problem is that when feelings become intense, we tend to view them as a destination instead of a guide.  For example, sadness does not ask us to wallow but to become aware of and involved in our own growth and healing.  If we stay stuck in our emotions, we do not allow them to guide us to what is next.

Are my feelings intense?  Am I staying stuck with my feelings?  What would change if I viewed my feelings as a guide to action?
