I have choices.
Sometimes, we feel resentment with all the things we “have” to do. In reality, we do not “have” to do anything; we have choices. I can choose to cooperate with my partner or can I choose not to. I can choose to consistently work my recovery program or I can choose to work my recovery program when it is convenient. Both choices have consequences. Some of the consequences are more desirable than others but that does not take away my choice.
Am I resenting my circumstances or other people for the things I “have” to do? Do I recognize all my options and their consequences? What would change if I acknowledged that I have choices?
