“Keen intelligence is two-edged,… It may be used constructively or destructively, like a knife, either to cut the boil or ignorance, or to decapitate oneself.” –Sri Yukteswar

Sometimes we are simply too smart for our own good.  While our intelligence can guide us and help us find answers, it can also keep us stuck in our own delusions.  Intelligence without openness to the views and perspectives of others empowers us to justify our own position, not find the answers.
Am I open to feedback and ideas from others?  Do I use my intelligence to find answers or bolster my own position?  What gifts await me if I use my intelligence in conjunction with openness?
