Sometimes good advice contradicts

In the interconnected world of today, there is no shortage of advice. Some is worth listening to; some should be avoided. The problem is that advice is often based on the advice giver’s perspective and not the reality of the situation.  While two options may both get you where you want to go, they may contradict one another. “Take what you like and leave the rest.” is a 12-step saying that does not encourage you to shut your mind to options and suggestions.  On the contrary, it asks you to consider all options and suggestions offered, and empowers you to take the advice that will most effectively help you reach your goals.

How can I get the support I need to differentiate between advice that works for me and advice that doesn’t serve me? Am I willing to accept good advice that challenges me?  What gifts await me if I consciously sort through the various options provided to me?
