A Cocoon of Procedures and Protocols
The US Navy is the only Navy in the world that routinely practices night take offs and landings from an aircraft carrier because it is so dangerous. The Navy can’t eliminate the danger so, instead, they create a cocoon of protocols and procedures to follow so that pilots can be safe even during the most dangerous times. A recovery program can benefit from such a cocoon. You can’t control every possible situation but can create a consistent routine and sobriety plan to provide guidance in the midst of whatever challenge comes your way.
When was the last time I was challenged in recovery? Did I have a plan and routine in place to manage it? What gifts await me if I create a “cocoon of procedures and protocols” for my recovery?
