Thought for the Week

Don’t take the lion out for a walk.

Lions are amazing, majestic animals and, regardless of how well they may be trained, they are dangerous.  Even if your trained lion has been calmly at your side for years and you have come to rely on this behavior, the lion is an unpredictable wild beast at its core.  If your full grown lion becomes aggressive, you do not have the size or strength to restrain it.  Your addiction is a lion.  Taking a lion out for a walk is asking for trouble.  Don’t take your addiction out for a walk.

When have I taken my addiction “out for a walk?”  What have been the consequences?  What gifts await me as I learn to respect my addiction and keep it contained?
