“A ship in the harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.” –John A. Shedd

The same old same old is the safest bet but it doesn’t get you anywhere.  An addict’s life can be chaotic not only because of their addictive behaviors but also because of the choices they make and the patterns they follow.  Change requires leaving the known and venturing into the unknown.  Only then can a life of recovery be found.

When have I fallen back into my same old patterns?  What has been the outcome of these patterns?  What gifts await me as I venture out of the harbor and into recovery?
