Thought for the Week

Don’t judge me by my past.  I don’t live there anymore.

While we are always responsible for the choices we make, past and present, it is important to weight them appropriately.  My past represents who I was.  But my present represents who I am and who I am becoming.  You can understand my wounds and the path I walked by looking at my past.  But to understand who I am, look at how I care for my emotional wounds and the choices I am making now.

Am I defining myself by my past, good or bad?  What do my current choices and self-care say about me?  Am I living my life as the person I want to be?
