Intimacy = into me you see
Intimacy does not mean sex. It does not mean physical closeness. It does not mean sharing old stories. Intimacy means to be known, wholly. It is an act of vulnerability. Intimacy starts with yourself; truly knowing who you are. Intimacy with another person is taking the next step and allowing yourself to be truly and wholly known, not just the comfortable parts. From a place of intimacy, sharing stories, being physically close, and sex take on a whole new depth.
Do I truly know myself? Have I confused intimacy with other interactions? Am I willing to be truly known by myself and by others whom I trust?
