“Life is a mystery. Don’t waste time trying to figure it out.” –Dan Millman
Why life’s events happen the way they do is anyone’s guess. We can spend hours, days, months, or years trying to figure out why life unfolds the way it does, only to have a limited and incomplete idea of the whole picture. Life is truly a mystery and the interconnections between us, those around us, the environment we are in, and the universe at large are beyond our comprehension. Rather than trying to understand life, we are better served by focusing on our “next right choice.” Your higher power has set out a path for you. It is not your job to know the destination or understand why this particular path was chosen. Your job is to accept that your life is taking you where you need to go, trust the path before you, and make the “next right choice.”
Am I focused on the larger, unknowable picture and ignoring the choices I have to make right now? What would change if I focused on the choices I have here and now? Does making the “next right choice” get easier if I trust that my higher power has a destination waiting for me?
