A good meal ought to begin with hunger. –French Proverb
When eating is connected to our appetite, it is enjoyable and serves a deeper purpose. When eating is disconnected from our appetite, it can become problematic through compulsion (overeating) or aversion (anorexia). The same is true of sex. When sex is connected to our sexuality, it is enjoyable and serves a deeper purpose. However, when sex is disconnected from our sexuality, it can become problematic through compulsion (sex addiction) or aversion (sexual anorexia).
Am I aware of my own sexuality? How do I know if I am experiencing my sexuality as opposed to compulsion? What would change if I allowed my sexuality to guide my sexual behavior?
