Thought for the Week

This too shall pass.

We sometimes react to a situation or experience as if it is permanent. This is true whether the event is comfortable or uncomfortable. In reality, all things are transitory. When we are in an uncomfortable situation, it is helpful to remember that we only need to manage until it passes. If a situation is comfortable, it is good to enjoy the moment and keep our foundation in place for when it too passes and we are faced with new challenges.

When I am uncomfortable, do I look for an escape? Am I giving permanence to situations that inherently change? What would change if I assume that “this too shall pass?”
