“No matter how far down a wrong turn you have gone, turn back.” –Turkish Proverb

Not every choice we make results in outcomes that are helpful or effective.  Making the wrong choice is not the problem.  Continuing on the path that a wrong choice leads you to is the problem.  In recovery, this may be a realization that we have been overly rigid or excessively lax with our program, overly focused on our partner or ignoring our partner’s experience, or, perhaps, participating in a behavior that is feeding our addiction patterns.  Regardless of what wrong turn you took and how long you have been on that path, turn back!

When have I resisted acknowledging a wrong choice?  What has been the consequence of not tuning back?  What gifts await me as I open myself to the possibility that I have made wrong choices and correct them?
