“You can never get enough of what you don’t need.” –Karen McCall

We want a lot of things.  There are significantly fewer things that we need.  Addicts are notorious for craving things they want instead of things they need.  A person with spending issues buys and wants more. A sex addict acts out and wants more.  When we focus on what we need, it satisfies.  Buying things that we need creates a sense of closure.  Healthy sex creates space to enjoy the relationship.

When I get what I am looking for, am I satisfied?  What does this say about my understanding of needs and wants?  What would change if I put more of my energy into that which I need?
